Budweiser Shootout at Daytona

This year NASCAR starts the season with the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. It will be run on Saturday night February 12, 2011 and can be seen on FOX.

This exhibition race is a non points event that has kicked off the NASCAR Sprint Cup season since 1979. Back then it was called the 'Bud Clash'. In 1998 the race became known as the 'Bud Shootout' and finally in 2001 the name was changed to what it is today.

This year the starting field for the Shootout will be set differently than in the past. This year all Chase drivers from last year qualify along with past Budweiser Shootout winners, past Series champions, past winners at Daytona and the last 10 Series rookies of the year.
